Horned Toads and New potatoes

I have always loved animals, especially the warm, furry ones. As a child growing up in West Texas, though, I was always bringing home horned toads and turtles of every size. It's funny what you remember. My most vivid recollection is how soft the toad tummys were! Then, there were the crawfish we would find as we waded in the creek behind the house. We never thought about snakes and other critters..we were living the life. I am sad to say that I have become less fun in my old age. You couldn't convince me to touch a horned toad now for anything..and the only way I would get close to a crawfish is if it was laying on a table amongst boiled corn on the cob and new potatoes!

(I bet you were wondering about those new potatoes) This year was our first success in growing new potatoes and they are yummy! Hubby , of course, did all the work. I just cook them. Aren't they beautiful? We might need to have a crawfish boil!  Until then, have fun! Cheryl
